Terms + policies

Clear expectations build trust.

These migrated policy settings explain the academy's current approach. Final legal wording will be completed before online payment opens.

Migration draft — review required

This summary carries forward the useful operational terms from the existing academy website. The academy name, effective date and legal wording must be reviewed before online enrolment or payment is enabled.

Enrolment

Places are subject to availability, suitability and payment confirmation. When online payments open, a place will be confirmed only after the application validates the enrolment and Stripe reports successful payment.

Participants or their guardians must provide accurate contact, emergency and relevant medical information, and keep it current.

Fees and billing

The existing academy policy provides for monthly direct debit on the first day of each month. Current fees, inclusions and payment frequency will be confirmed before checkout opens. Card details will be handled by Stripe rather than stored by the academy website.

Cancellations and refunds

The migrated policy requests at least 14 days' written notice before the next billing date. Late notice may allow one further billing cycle to be processed. Fees are generally not refundable for missed classes due to personal commitments, holidays or illness; any make-up class is subject to availability and academy discretion.

Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Participation

Karate and fitness activity involve physical exertion and some inherent risk. Students must follow instructor directions, use equipment appropriately and disclose any condition or injury that may affect safe participation. Age-appropriate acknowledgements and emergency medical authorisation will be collected during registration.

Conduct and safety

Students, families and staff are expected to communicate respectfully and support a safe, inclusive learning environment. Bullying, harassment, unsafe behaviour and deliberate damage are not accepted.

Photography and video

Photography and video consent will be requested separately from essential enrolment terms. A parent, guardian or adult participant may opt out in writing.

Privacy and governing law

Personal information will be used to administer classes, payments, safety and necessary communications, as described in the privacy policy. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and applicable Commonwealth law.
